These are pictures of the articles CliffieC and I have been trying to post in the Technical Documents / Articles section. I scanned them into single PDF's, but I couldn't upload PDF's to the site or even post into the Tech Docs/Articles section. I emailed them to CliffieC, but I guess the clarity/definition got lost in the emails/posting. So I took pictures of the articles and here they are. This one is the Cycle World May 1981 CB900F test. I found these magazines at a swap meet Doc Olds and I were at last weekend and scooped them up. Ahhhh. Nice memories. Hope you enjoy!

I enjoyed these glimpses into the past......
Note the "range to reserve" in the specs ..... 208 miles. After extensive modifications people have actually been able to get them to run out of gas in less than a 100 miles! Now that's progress. |

So a 900F will do 139mph red line 5th gear or 140mph a little into the red line. Any disagreement with that? |

That speed in gears chart is a simple gearing extrapolation at redline..
It assumes the bike has the hp to pull redline in 5th
On a 900 with stock gearing at redline hits 139 mph. If it can pull redline….
Never had a 900, so I’ve never done it…. |

Just checking because of the 85mph speedo. My 900 would get to redline in 5th gear fairly quickly. |

Most will say I'm daft. The 900 was the best all around of the bunch. |
