Great weather today, so I took a ride to the beach to see how the rebuilt shocks felt.

This past weekend marked the 2 year anniversary since I arrived in NZ and got out of quarantine. Time flies!

No update on the 900 - I ride it once a week or so and there's really nothing I need to do with it at this stage. I do need to track down some filters at some point to replace the open stacks.

I ended up commissioning a major resto on the TA. Replacing both quarters, outer wheelhouses, trunk extensions, both door skins and the tailpanel. The goal is to completely remove any signs of rust or prior repair work. Even the factory spot welds are bing replicated where possible. It's been at the body shop for 10 months now but it is (slowly) progressing.

The original plan was to have this in the paint booth by April. That was before the decision was made to strip the hood and front fenders.....

Rust is evil (the leading edge of the hood);

Image

The hood had to be 'deskinned' to repair it correctly;

Image

All metalwork is now done - just doing final trial fitting and alignment of panels;

You should ring up Brent and have a heat against his Mopars.

I don't think my bone stock, low comp, 225HP 400 would stand a chance! Laughing

Early Xmas present for me - car is finally back from the bodyshop after a 16 month restoration.

Image

Slowly getting it back together. Have yet to book it in for it's compliance test - but hoping for mid-January.

Wrapping this up. It's been a mission but the TA is finally complied and legal to drive on NZ roads.

Image

If I were to do it again, I would have sold the TA in the US and bought more of my bikes over - oh well.
