I'm assuming there are no differences- mounting-wise between a 750 tank and a 900 tank.
The 750 tank is one that had the screwed-on side emblems. Is that the only difference? |

The petcock threads changed size almost every year.
I think F tanks of the same year are the same, like an 80 900f will fit an 80 750f, and so on, but don't remember exactly. |

So general fitment-wise the tanks are the same as far as frame mounting,side cover mounting etc ?
I can get whichever petcock it needs... |

Yes, the general fitment is the same. FWIW, the fuel line output on the '79 & '80 petcocks is 5.5 mm and you may have trouble connecting it to larger inlets on later carbs. |
