I can’t help with your VIN question, but you simply CANNOT put it out there that you have 6 1100’s and not post up a group photo of them!

This is an interesting question! I asked something similar last year on the CB1100F Facebook Group...here's what I got in reply.
In short....we could safely assume that over 7,000 CB1100F bikes (USA and Euro spec) were produced between 1983/84. How many of those were USA spec?.....only Honda would know, but you'd have to say 3-4,000 bikes. |

Well that's interesting , lets see if some has a serial number higher than 6898 which is close to the 7000 that this thread estimates. |

So 7442 is the highest number we have now seen….any higher bidders?
I think we can assume that somewhere close to 8,000 bikes were produced. |

hogwild113 - do you still have the Honda compliance plate for #886? If so, what is the build date (top right of the plate). Also, for your later #7000 range bikes, what are the build dates? Your #7442 looks like February 1983, is that correct?
Wulph - what’s your build date for #7730?
1100russ - what are the build dates for your two bikes?
mango - what are the build dates for your frames?
My bikesis #3457 with a build date of August 1982 |

wow...that is really interesting, thank you so much for taking the time to gather than information. I'm going to start an on-line mini-registry of Chassis numbers, and if I get a few more folks responding, I'll publish it. |

Hey...Wulph, can you double check the build date on #6544, August 1982 seems to be out of line with all the other numbers I have, it should be Dec or Jan |

Great thanks....makes sense now. Also.....do you have the original pipes for #6654? and did they have the EPA noise compliance stamp on them? I suspect not. |

I'm trying to determine the exact date that Honda switched over part numbers for the stock exhaust. I have a theory of when that occured and the exact frame number, but before I share what I've discovered, I just wanted to gather some more supporting evidence.
Your frame numbers are extremely useful, and would you be able to tell me if any of your #7000 series bikes had original pipes that included the EPA noise compliance stamp on them? see example photo below. |

Thanks djf18374, can you make out the build month from the Honda compliance plate for #6052? Very top right hand corner? Also, do you have original pipes for that bike? And if so do they have the EPA noise compliance stamping? |

The only verbiage on the mufflers are SANKEI 2048. No noise compliance stampings. Hard to believe they are in perfect condition at that. The entire bike is a 10. The planets were aligned the day I found her |
