Does anyone have a tank bag? Which one? I find myself needing just a little bit of storage and it seems like it might fit the bill.

I have an Eclipse tank bag that's almost as old as my 900F. It has served me well.

Hi- I have the Cortech Super 2.0 Low Profile Strap Tankbag. It expands from 5 to 10 liters and is available w/strap or magnetic mount.
I've always preferred the strap. I attached the rear strap connector to the bolt that secures the rear of the fuel tank.
Check Bob's Cycle Supply for a great price.

I got a Chase Harper 800 magnetic bag as a birthday gift last year and have loved it. Enough room for a water bottle, sweatshirt, extra gloves, tools, etc... It will even fit a small laptop (Lenovo X1), with the expandable zipper section opened, but just barely.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Does anyone find that the bags get in your way?

I found using a tank bag ruined the paint on the tank...even after being careful about getting any dirt underneath.

Going forward, I wonít use one on any tank I care about that isnít covered with a clear 3m film covering.

I get ya, but leather pants will do the same and I wouldn't go without them on a ride that needed a tank bag. Sounds like a good reason to have 2 sets of bodywork. Cool

I've used a variety of strap-style bags over the years (never crazy heavily loaded) and have yet to see damage
to the paint. I would be more leery of a magnetic mount bag in that respect.

I have the 3m film on my tank with a magnetic mount Joe Rocket Manta bag...no issues at all. Good size and easy to mount / dismount

when i go on trips with a tank bag I cover the tank where needed with simple electrical tape. When I arrive at my destination and remove the tank bag I just peel off the tape. Electrical tape is cheap and it's everywhere so it's easy!

Painters tape probably works as well but my experience is with the rubberized black electrical stuff cause the black matches my tank colour Wink

I too have a Cortech tank bag. I bought the smaller one that doesn't expand, but, I like it. It's big enough for the essentials that would otherwise be in my pockets. Mine has a spot to clip a strap to the front. I wrap the strap around the head tube and shortened it up almost all the way just a secondary attachment. I like the fact that I can have it securely on the bike during riding yet unclip it and cary it if going in to eat or something. Or I can attach the "back pack" straps and wear it. I haven't needed to do this yet.

I also like Fitters idea of the electrical tape to protect the paint.
