I recently spoke with a machinist and was quoted a price of $600 for the boring job on my CB1100F to fit the 72MM cruzinimage pistons I ordered. I see that wiseco offers a 72MM sleeve for $80 unit price which should be a bit cheaper if I do the work myself. I'm just wondering if anybody else has gone this route and how much others have spent on similar machine work.

find another machinist, that is to much, and those Wiseco 72mm sleeves (if they are truly 72mm, and not boreable to) will still need honed to size.

Your in North Carolina, talk to Kim at Carolina Cycles, hes a good dude, raced Hondas once

He said that usually he would charge $90 a cylinder for .5mm over. Because I need 2mm over he would have to charge more given the extra time it would take.

I charge close to that for the full over bore and hone. The days of $300.00 bore jobs is over unless you know a guy IMO.

As Lindy said you will still need at least a final hone.

Id rather pay Jims price, even if its close to the 600 quoted, he has a set of torque plates, much better route, something that very few other shops have for a Honda

Mike Nixon quoted me $85/cyl. for the CBX 3mm bore.
includes more than just bore and hone. add shipping and tax.

Mike also commented on CruzinImage "big bore kits"* that the pistons
were good quality but the rings and wristpins were suspect.

* one of his tech articles.

A guy I know runs CruzinImage pistons and Total Seal rings. He sent them the pistons the first time. Makes a HUGE difference.

I am about to put together my motor with CruzinImage pistons, but now I wonder if the rings are any good.

I have them in my 1123 motor in RMI. Runs great, doesn't smoke, lots of power, very snappy. I'll use them again.

My guy in MA charges $75 a hole for boring and honing from stock to 72mm.

Usually 100 dollars a hole, unless you get extras like torque plate (if available) or hot honing etc........

I contacted LA sleeves recently as they make the Wiseco 72mm liners, they supply them just over 69mm so can be used for the stock 70mm bore or 72mm oversize

If I buy the pistons from my guy Ray Mancini at Xtreme Motorsports in Tennessee (charges me same price as my dealer prices anyway for pistons), he charges $325 USD to install sleeves, bore, hone, deck, O-ring. He charges $85 to bore block for new sleeves. Builds some of the fastest Hayabusa motors our there, and also does all the machining for TIMS CBX race motors. He has a local guy making the sleeves for him now as recently LA Sleeves started to charge crazy prices ($130-140 per sleeve).
