Due to the graciousness of John's family, I am purchasing the 1100RC. I will be selling a bike or two to complete the purchase. If anyone knows anyone interested in purchasing a 2009 Yamaha FJR1300AE (computer controlled clutch model), please p.m. me.
Thanks! |

congrats on the new bike. i sold that bike to JOHN.
i imported it from England. bought it from a small shop and i do not think they are in business . they were selling another bike on eBay and in the background of some of the photos was the CB1100R . I took a chance and called them and inquired if the cb1100r was also for sale. a few months later it was at my house.
when JOHN came to buy it from me it was winter and he just looked at the serial numbers , did not even bother to start it up.
congrats on your purchase

Thanks all. I am somewhat overwhelmed and very humbled that the family worked with me to purchase it. I rode it to my insurance agent's office to get coverage on it, and now it will remain parked until I get the title. I can just sit and stare at it for long periods of time, and frequently thoughts of John pop into my head.
Fee, thanks so much for the info. I remember when John got it, just didn't know the backstory on it. |

Great fun to know some of the pedigree of your own bike. And the garage chair to view them is a definite necessity. Enjoy!!

Rev,
I have a bunch of photos from when I worked on that bike when John commissioned me to do some freshen-up work on it a few years ago.
If you send me an email, (button below) I can send you those pics if you want them.
Regards, |

It is nice you have been able to purchase John's CB1100R Ralph, they are a rare and special bike and you will love riding it, i have done almost 2000 miles on my R's this summer, including a trip to Holland to visit Wout (lunterenholland)

I have over 110 photos and I just don't have the time to resize them all to post here. Besides many were just for reference of particular components.
What I will do is sort through them and show the before and after of a certain area.
One thing we did do that some would consider blasphemous, was to swap out the original turn signals (that several had broken stems or lenses, weren't correct anyway) to new Honda dirt bike signals with rubber stems. That way, they won't break if they're bumped against. |

Another example:
Notice not only is the Dyna Tek installed but, the battery box is modified and powder coated, the foot plates are off and being re-worked/ceramic coated, work in progress on the brake system, fresh fasteners, Randakk's clamps on the airbox, etc...... |
