Probably too much exercise and he wore it out. Best wishes Tom, you'll be back in the shop before you know it. |

All the best, Tom! Friend of mine had a hip replacement 2 years ago and he still says it is the best thing that ever happened to him. He regrets he had not done it earlier.
Before I could get around to visit him in the hospital, he was home. I think he was there only 2 days! |

He had a scope repair (unless there was a change from last week). Heal fast, Tom! The 750 project starts as soon as I close on the house(17 Feb). |

I had my left hip replaced in 1998, I'm working on getting my right one done soon.
I hope yours goes as well as my first one did, Tom. I never have any difficulty with it, and forget it was even done most of the time. |

Wow, so many good wishes! The power from all those good thoughts will have me all healed up in no time!

Peter, you aren't far from the truth. 44 years of running on a slightly defective hip (never knew it) took it's toll. Fortunately, this wasn't a replacement, but just an arthroscopic procedure to clean up a torn labrum and torn cartilage. The doc saw plenty of arthritis when he was in there, so this is just getting me a little more time on the "stock" hip that I was given.
I hope to be back to normal activities within a couple of weeks. Until then, I plan to take it easy and let nature do it's work.
Bless you all for being such great friends! |

Don't need a zerk. My dad's friend always used WD 40. Not a joke. Used it on his knees for years. |

Hey guys,
I'm doing alright and am getting plenty of rest. I stopped taking the heavy duty pain meds and am just on some occasional Tylenol. The stomach is a bit messed up from the ordeal, but overall, I really can't complain. I'm anxious to get back in the shop, but I'm going to take it easy and be cautious - I'll be back at it in no time. The doc said my hip is pretty trashed, but he cleaned it up as best he can. My goal is to get back on track, be careful, and when replacement time comes, I'll schedule it during the non-riding season so I'll be ready to go the following spring.
All the good wishes and thoughts are paying off because I have a lot less pain. Thanks!
Tom |

Great to hear you are doing well and recovering.
A handy tip for surgical recovery from lower limb
operations is to try to avoid arse kicking
competitions for at least 3 months. |
