Got this in my email today, just thought I'd share
November may NOT be the best time to use POR-15!
But maybe it's the best time to BUY POR-15!
HERE'S THE DEAL: Buy any POR-15 product by December 14 and take a ten percent (10%) discount off your bill. Buy as much as you like on this one-time offer.
By the way, you can even place additional orders as long as we receive them by December 14. Is this a great deal, or what?
Mention promotional key code PCAA1207 when you call or enter it on our on-line checkout page at www.por15.com. |

Now that is a quality post. I have 3 spare tanks I am getting ready to paint. I may as well seal them first so they can be 100%. Thanks for the tip. |

I have 3 or 4 spare sets of bodywork my wife keeps asking when I am going to complete and put on eBay like I said when I bought them 4 years ago. LOL I guess I am still looking for that Round Tuit. |

Well, that would depend. Are you hoping for fumes?
(Sorry, I really don't know the answer, as I've never used the stuff) |

Well, it depends if Pink Floyd is playing on the stereo or not..
Nah, I just want t seal my tank and my basement is warmer than the old horse barn where my bike(well, pile of motorcycle parts) is.
Hey I like this new edit box. It feeds my laziness even further, don't even have to mouse to a button now.

yes POR gives off fumes . When you are doing gas tanks it usually means the whole process , acid soak, water rinse, neutalize w/base , water rinse ,then quick acetone spritz to remove water(watch paint) . Every aspect of these chemical reactions are temp dependent and work better outside in the summer. The hotter the better. This also applies to the POR. Since you are pouring most of it out ,it pays to have it warm and flowing easy. But, a bargain is a bargain and POR will store fine untiI it gets warmer. |

I've always used it outside, because of the fumes that it gives off |

I just ordered 3 gas tank kits and 1 qt of "blackcoat" to try on a frame I have, has anyone tried their "BLACK VELVET" high heat paint? http://www.por15.com/products.asp?dept=8 they claim it is good to 1200F, I have a rusted set of black chrome pips from a XS1100 that need to be refinished
P.S. Your welcome to everyone that thanked me for posting |

I use their high temp paint on my headers. They were rusted chrome. By the end of the season, a bit of the paint burns off, especially by the cylinders. I'm not sure if it would work better not being over chrome that has just been roughed up with sandpaper. I figure if once a season I pull the header to paint it up again that isn't too bad. The POR-15 works better than anything else I have used. |
