    1982   45,000 Km

    Hi...

Attached are some photos of my new/old 1982 CB900F, which has been restored with a complete top-end rebuild on the engine. Feel free to use my name and email address.

    Current Mileage:

    • Frame: 45,000 km
    • Engine Bottom-End: 17,000 km
    • Engine Top-end: 60 km

This is actually the combined parts and engine from two 1982 CB900F bikes.

It was a project started by a friend of mine, Ken Timmins. I bought the project from him with the agreement that he would help me finish re-building the top-end of the engine that had 17,000 km on it.

We finished the rebuild early this summer (2002), I had the new decals made and had the bike painted, then we put the whole thing back together.

I like the look, copied it from the European Bol D'Or style. I had the decals made as vinyl cuts in a sign-shop. They still have the pattern. If anyone is interested in this decal set, let me know and I'll set you up with the shop (skeggsd@sympatico.ca). The paint shop installed the decals over the flat black paint and then applied a few layers of clear-coat on top of that -- nice effect.

The pipes are 4-2 Macs, nice throaty sound. I never liked the 4-1 header that was on one of the bikes, and the original pipes on the other bike were finished.

The quarter-fairing is an out-of-date Shoei. Can't get a replacement windscreen for it. I'll probably replace the fairing later.

This was a great project and I have a great bike as a result of it.

    Regards

    Doug Skeggs.
