1983 Honda CB900F

Information on this bike:

Hi there,

This my CB900F2 Bol d'Or from 1983, with about 52000 km. I bought it in the summer of 1999. At that time it had been 12 years since I had last driven a motorbike of my own. In those days, a Bol d'Or was my absolute dream machine, so I bought this one rather impulsively, when I saw it was for sale.

I am becomming more accustomed to driving the bike after such a long time. Being spoiled by the comfort of a car, just don't compare... I love it!

The bike was in original state when I bought it, complete with the F2 fairing, except for the exhaust.

During the spring of 1999, I had the frame powdercoated and exchanged all the bolts for stainless steel ones, because the bike is parked outdoors throughout the riding season. It's very rainy here :-(

The photos (sorry for the quality of them, I took them with a disposable camera) are taken before the rebuild, but after I took off the fairing.

I was poaching? the web for info on the Bol d'or type, when I found this fabulous site, keep on going!!

After contacting Sean Maney (also on these pages with his brother) I decided to change the swinging arm. I am now working to exchange it for a polished Kawa GPZ one with excentric chain tensioners and adjustable Marzocchi Strada shocks with air support.

I'll provide more (better quality photos) as soon as the bike is updated.

I think, I will change the front fork for a CBR or VFR one, larger oil cooler and some other "want to have"
