he has his bike very nicely done, with all the performance crap you can name on it. well, ran it down a local runway here today...got it to 152 mph!!!! wow, what a freakin rush!! smooth as silk!! much smoother than mine when i ran here down the strip!! dont no really what speed my 82 cb750f was going, but i guess around 130 on mine....5th gear at 9500 rpm.
much smoother than mine, thats for sure!! but i love my my oldie but goody!!
times they have a changed!!
bill
ps: to be honest, on a very smooth no traffic surface, the 152 mph was not as bad as i reall thought...dont get me wrong, i was movin very quickly, and took a bit to stop, but its really a cool thing to have the chance to do that...the local little airport maintainance crew all have bikes, and said it was no problem, as they do the same frequently!!

Your old CB....F can go a long way towards that smooth ride if you get some Race Tech cartridge emulators in the front fork with some after market fork springs, 5 wt fork oil, and either high dollar aftermarket shocks or brand new Progressive rear shocks & springs.

I love new sportbikes as well as vintage sportbikes. I have a hand-built 97 YZF1000R here that goes from 120 MPH to 160 MPH in third gear faster than you can say this sentence.

Old sportbikes are about connecting with the past or demonstrating your virtuosity. New sportbikes are all about demonstrating who is a fool and who is not.

I have a friend who works on vintage high performance cars for a private collector. Their shop is across the street from a private air strip. I was visiting when he finished doing work on Ferrari Testarosa. He offered me a test ride, and we jumped in and took it to the air strip, and 160 mph later I was in love. I am an American muscle car kinda guy, but there is something to be said for high tech, just like with our vintage muscle bikes versus the new crotch rockets.
